Thermal Imaging
Thermal imaging cameras build up a picture of an object using the heat from within the object. In the pest control industry, this is useful as images of roof and wall caverties can be inspected without the need to damage the area being inspected.
Termites generate concentrated heat, while water and moisture leaks produce cooler areas. The thermal imaging camera builds an image based on the different temperatures, allowing us to pinpoint irregularities in a building.
As with all things in life, you get what you pay for. Our camera is one of the most powerful available for this type of work - we had to get special clearance from the US Department of Defence to import it into Australia, as it is classed as a terrorist weapon.
Even the best camera is only as good as the person using it. Not only is our thermographer fully trained to use the equipment, he is also a licensed builder qualified to discuss not only termite issues, but also structural and building problems.
