Building and Pest Inspections

It is amazing that so many people call us, about to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars and commit themselves to a mortgage for the next thirty years and the only question they ask us is how much. Consider the qualities you would want if you needed brain surgery, price would not be an issue.

Our prices are neither the cheapest nor dearest in town, but when you consider the amount of experience, detail and advice you will receive, they are surely the best value for money.

Things to consider and ask before booking a prepurchase building inspection.

It is not compulsory for an inspector to have any insurance in Queensland - check with the QBSA. You would have to wonder about an inspector that could not get insurance coverage.

We are not only fully insured, but carry twice as much insurance as most companies, as this is a requirement of our government clients.

If an agent is pushing for a particular inspector to do your work, does the inspector have a vested interest, or turn a blind eye to help the sale?

We have no alliance with any agent. In fact many local agents cringe when they know that we will be doing the inspection, as we have a reputation of telling it like it really is. An unusually high number of real estate agents do however insist on using us when purchasing a home for themselves or family members.

Is the inspector local? If they are that good, why would they have to come from Toowoomba or Brisbane to work in Ipswich?

We are Ipswich born and bred, and have a detailed knowledge of particular problem areas (streets with reactive soils, areas where homes have fallen into mine shafts etc). We have built, bought, sold and treated many homes in the area and can recommend local tradespeople should your new home require them.
